Shift Forks and Mainshaft

Contrary to Willys (and Ricks) published procedures, I think it works a lot better to have the entire mainshaft pre-assembled before installing it in the case.  This includes:

rear bearing, bearing spacer, bearing adapter (w/seal if needed), 2nd. gear & syncro assembly (w/out front blocking ring).

A "special tool" comes in real handy too.

Keeps the transmission from falling apart while you finish assembly.

If you're working with an early transmission (prior to VIN 24196) you'll need this oil seal for the mainshaft.
