Spider shaft warning

This photo is out-of-sequence (gears already installed), but it's important to take note of something here.

Notice the little "teats" on the end of each spider gear shaft.  Machining artifacts.

It's VERY IMPORTANT that these be at least flush with the back surface of the hub (or even recessed a couple of thousandths).

A thrust bearing rides against this back surface of the hub, so if any part of the spider gear shaft protrudes beyond this surface, it will prevent the thrust bearing from seating flush.

So in the next steps, when you press these shafts in place, DON'T press them too far!

If the teats are really long, you might want to grind them off first.
