Spider hub threads
The holes for mounting the bevel spacer are threaded differently in the new vs. old spider hub!
The original Warn hub had 7 full threads. The screws (using the original bevel spacer) threaded in a full 4 - 4 1/2 turns.
The new Saturn hub (and this is brand new, straight from Saturn for big $$$) is only threaded to a depth of 3 1/2 turns. New screws (with the new bevel spacer) bottomed out in the thread cuts long before clamping the spacer down tight, and left the spacer & bearings sloppy loose.
Going back to the original bevel spacer, w/less recess, got rid of most of the slack, but not all. I still needed 4 - 4 1/2 turns, but the hub only had 3 1/2, so I had to grind off the last 1/2+ threads from each screw to get them to clamp the spacer tight.
You'd think them en-gun-eers would have this figured out by now!
